Based on the Boris Kniaseff technique, this method of exercise will help both ballet students and professional dancers to achieve more strength and better alignment, which will result in improved overall ballet technique.

It is actually inspired by the exercises at the barre on standing feet, the first part of a ballet class.The exercises will be done on the back, stomach, and sometimes on the side.They could start in sitting position first and then continue on the back…

The Boris Kniaseff technique is the only one deserving the title of «Floor Barre» as it is really inspired by the first part of a ballet class. I have tried all of the different techniques called Floor Barre, but most of them are inspired by Yoga, therapy exercise, and gymnastics. The only one, in my opinion, that deserves this title is the one devised by Boris Kniaseff. In this Floor Barre, the exercises are almost in the same order as a normal ballet class…

This first downloadable video in the series is aimed at beginner level, some experience of ballet is assumed. Intermediate and advanced levels also available.

You will receive a link to a compressed ZIP file containing a single, high resolution MP4 video file.
